In this paper we consider a linear system that in addition to a control input and a measurement output has k exogenous inputs and k exogenous outputs. We assume that the system is controlled by means of a linear measurement feedback compensator. The resulting closed loop system has k exogenous input and k exoge-nous outputs and we assume that its transfer matrix is partitioned accordingly as a k x k block matrix. If through the application of a suitable compensator the H 1-norm of the oo-diagonal blocks of the closed loop system transfer matrix all can be made arbitrarily small, we say that the almost noninteracting control problem is solvable. In this paper we present veriiable necessary and suucient conditions for the solv-ability of the almost noninteracting control problem.
